Position title: tenure track for Assistant Professor of Technology Education at SUNY Oswego

Review Date: Review of application materials will begin January 12, 2011 and will continue until the position is filled.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience

Date of Appointment: September 2011

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Teach education courses in the following areas: foundations of teaching, curriculum development, assessment, teaching methodology, and facilities planning.
  • Assume responsibility of a technical laboratory.
  • Demonstrate a capacity to develop and deliver STEM education at the graduate level.
  • Initiate, develop, and participate in public school and college partnerships, including work with our professional development schools.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Participate in department, school, and college service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for equivalent NYS teacher certification in a technology education related discipline.
  • Complete a Ph.D or Ed.D from an accredited university prior to tenure.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.
  • Be committed to preparing students for multicultural/global communities of the 21st century.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and leadership experience in technology education.

Description of Department: The Department of Technology, organized within the School of Education, offers programs in Technology Education and Technology Management.
